Of the 14 years that the author has lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Shirley Hampton Hunt has spent the last six devoted to seeking out and photographing the houses, wetlands and scenes of the waterways and boats that are the fabric of life in the Chesapeake Bay Area. With her thoughtful and sensitive images of an endangered way of life, Hunt probes the underbelly of the agricultural area with her camera. |
A
new book of extraordinary photographs and narrative, detailing the history
and collapse of magnificent houses on the Eastern Shore, and their
changing environment. It reflects the changes that are affecting all quiet
agricultural communities throughout the country.
An exhibition of the photographs included in the Book is showcased
at The Artists’ Gallery and autographed copies of “The Vanishing
Landscape” are available there.
